VACANCY:            Senior Fundraiser

Community Keepers is a non-profit company building a culture of wellbeing in schools serving low-income communities. Our multidisciplinary teams operate from school-based offices and deliver a C.A.R.E. model of services to the whole school community including counselling, therapy, anchoring life-skill programmes, professional development for educators and parenting workshops.

As part of our growth strategy, we would like to invite a seasoned fundraiser to join our team and to play a key role in the development and implementation of our fundraising strategy. The applicant should have a proven track record in securing significant funding, a talent for donor prospecting, a good understanding of impact reporting and a natural flair for building relationships.

Responsibilities: 

  • Actively fundraise and mobilise resources (both national and international), against agreed targets, to support the activities of the organisation;
  • Compile persuasive concept notes, project ideas and project proposals and ensure their timely submission;
  • Undertake independent research in finding alternative resources for long-term organisational sustainability;
  • Regularly identify donor opportunities in line with the priorities and strategy of the organisation;
  • Foster donor relationships through regular communications, site visits and written reports;
  • Participate in internal and external events to build a strong network;
  • Host special events and campaigns;
  • Actively build and maintain the CK database on the Devman platform;
  • Prepare and present monthly reports to management.

Requirements: 

  • Applicants should have a minimum of five years’ fundraising experience with measurable successes;
  • A relevant tertiary qualification;
  • Excellent writing skills;
  • A valid driver’s licence and your own reliable vehicle.

Our head office is based at the Sustainability Institute in Stellenbosch and our 89 partner schools are spread across Cape Town, Cape Winelands, Bonnievale, rural Eastern Cape as well as Mamelodi and Eersterust in Gauteng.  Applicants must be willing to travel to meetings with funders and partner schools.
