SCHOOL COUNSELLOR / SOCIAL WORKER
We are accepting applications for registered counsellors and social workers in Cape Town, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. We deliver a variety of services to learners including assessments, counselling, therapy, life skills programmes and parenting workshops.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
● Administration of all services delivered,
● Providing individual and/or group therapy; obtaining collateral; giving feedback and recording of data,
● Maintaining relationships with learners, educators and parents,
● Liaising with parent committees to organise parenting sessions,
● Contributing to professional development sessions with educators,
● Presenting life skills programmes.
Requirements:
● Tertiary qualification and registered with the SACSSP as a Social Worker, or registered with HPCSA as
a Registered Counsellor.
● Experience in counselling children as well as working in a school context and sound ethical principles of practice.
● Knowledge in the development of creative approaches for interventions for individual and school development.
● Outstanding administrative skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, Afrikaans or isiXhosa.
● Natural ability to build strategic relationships and interact with individuals of different backgrounds.
● Passion for teamwork and community-based interventions.
● Capability to represent the values and ethos of the organisation.
The successful candidates will be based at Community Keepers offices at schools in the Cape Town, Stellenbosch or Franschhoek area.

AREA MANAGER: CAPE TOWN / CAPE WINELANDS
Community Keepers seeks to appoint an Area Manager to join their team to oversee all the organisation’s operational activities in the Cape Town / Cape Winelands area. This person will manage and support the Office Managers to ensure optimal service delivery and positive stakeholder relationships. The person must be highly organised and self-motivated, of equal importance is the ability to represent the values and ethos of Community Keepers and a passion for the work of the organisation.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Visiting school sites to ensure quality delivery of services and implementation of organisational policies and processes.
- Managing stakeholder relationships including school principals, teachers, parents and community partners.
- Conducting assessments and providing counselling and therapy to children and youth.
- Supervising, supporting and overseeing Office Managers.
- Reporting to the Operations Manager regarding all school operations in the area.
- Managing and interpreting data and reports to compile summative reports regarding operation.
- Assisting with general administrative tasks, especially HR tasks.
- Involvement in general organisational activities, including reports, fundraising, social media, and more.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification, preferably a B Social Work (and registered with the SACSSP) or BEd (Hons) in Ed Psych / BEd Psych (and a registered counsellor with the HPCSA).
- Five years or more work experience (ideally in the child and youth development / education context).
- Two years or more management experience (ideally in project planning, implementation and management in a child and youth development / education context).
- Experience in counselling children as well as working in a school context.
- Highly organised and efficient.
- Good time management, data collection and reporting ability.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage teams.
- Valid driver’s license and own transport.
- Excellent verbal, visual and written communication skills.
- Excellent proficiency in English and Afrikaans.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Capability to represent the values and ethos of the organisation.
The starting date for this position is as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be based in the Cape Town / Cape Winelands Area, and will travel between the different Community Keepers school offices in the area as well as the Head Office in Stellenbosch.

HEAD OF DEVELOPMENT/PREVENTATIVE SERVICES
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Planning, implementing and coordinating all Life, Parent and Teacher Keepers services.
- Planning and coordinating training within Life, Parent and Teacher Keepers.
- Managing and preparing all Life, Parent and Teacher Keepers processes, protocol and policies.
- Monitoring and Evaluation of Life, Parent and Teacher Keepers.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification, preferably a B Social Work (and registered with the SACSSP) or BEd (Hons) in Ed Psych/ BEd Psych (and a registered counsellor with the HPCSA).
- Five years’ or more work experience (ideally in the child and youth development / education context).
- Two years’ or more management experience (ideally in project planning, implementation and management in a child and youth development / education context).
- Experience in working in a school context.
- Highly organised and efficient.
- Good time management, data collection and reporting ability.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage teams.
- Valid driver’s license and own transport.

HEAD OF M&E (MONITORING & EVALUATION)
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Planning, implementing and coordinating all monitoring and evaluation of the organisation.
- Developing protocol and guidelines for the effective administering of tools and collection of data.
- Ensuring accuracy of data.
- Interpretation of data in order to advise adjustments to service delivery.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification.
- Five years’ or more work experience (ideally in the child and youth development / education context and with M&E as part of responsibilities).
- Two years’ or more management experience.
- Experience in working in a school context.
- Highly organised and efficient.
- Good time management, data collection and reporting ability.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage teams.
- Valid driver’s license and own transport.
- Excellent verbal, visual and written communication skills.
- Excellent proficiency in English.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Capability to represent the values and ethos of the organization.
