Ending GBVF 100-Day Challenge with Stellenbosch Municipality

Through the Eyes of the Victim

We were invited by Stellenbosch Municipality to join other organisations in our area, at the Franschhoek Indoor Sports Centre (SCORE), for collective change.

This intensive 100-day initiative is a localized, action-driven campaign aimed at addressing Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) through practical interventions, awareness programmes, community engagement, and victim-centred support initiatives. The challenge seeks to create meaningful and measurable change within our communities by working together with government departments, NGOs, community organisations, and other stakeholders.
The theme, “Through the Eyes of the Victim,” encourages all partners to place the experiences, voices, and realities of victims at the centre of our work. It reminds us that behind every statistic is a human story that deserves dignity, protection, healing, and hope.

Why this partnership matters

The Ending GBVF 100-Day Challenges are gaining national momentum as communities across South Africa work together to find sustainable solutions to GBVF. This initiative provides an opportunity to move beyond policies and discussions and focus on real action and measurable impact.
Historically, reporting on GBVF has focused mainly on negative statistics and tragic outcomes. Through this challenge, we aim to highlight positive community-driven solutions, successful interventions, and collaborative efforts that inspire hope and encourage change.
This project is not only about a 100-day cycle, but about planting seeds of hope towards a GBVF-free community. Every activity, awareness campaign, workshop, and intervention contributes towards building safer communities and restoring dignity to victims and survivors.
