Vacancies

We are serious about attracting and retaining outstanding talent.

All vacancies are shared on social media so please follow our pages.  In line with our Employment Equity goals and plan, preference will be given to suitable applicants from designated groups.  Given the nature of our work, all candidates are reference checked and require police clearance.  Due to the volume of applications, only candidates that have been selected to attend an interview will be contacted; as a general rule, once 6 weeks have passed you can assume that the vacancy has been filled or re-advertised.

We use the following terminology for our school-based teams:

Care Facilitator* – members of the local community, who we train in Mental Health First Aid to provide frontline support. Minimum requirement is grade 12 or equivalent.  Please register on JobJack (no need to wait for a job advert) ck.jobjack.co.za

Care Practitioner – qualified specialists ie registered counsellor, psychologist or social worker and are registered with the HPCSA or SACSSP.  Please use this form (no need to wait for a job advert) https://forms.gle/7gbqLQso6AZchYog8

Our support teams work from our head office at The Sustainability Institute (Stellenbosch) or in Mamelodi (outside Pretoria).  They manage logistics, human resources, finance, community liaison, fundraising, quality assurance and M&E.

* We first train and then recruit, this means that shortlisted candidates for the role of Care Facilitator will be invited to attend free Mental Health First Aid training (theory and practical) and you will earn a stipend to cover your costs.  If you are not successful, you walk away with a valuable qualification, personal development and experience.  The most important requirement for this role is to have a heart for the community, speak the language of the local community and live in the community.  Social Auxiliary Workers are welcome to apply for these posts.
