Vacancies
At Community Keepers, we are serious about attracting and retaining outstanding talent. We recruit through JobJack so, if you are interested in joining our team, please go and build a profile on their site; it is very easy to use and opens many doors of opportunity. In line with our Employment Equity goals and plan, preference will be given to suitable applicants from designated groups. Given the nature of our work, all candidates are reference checked and require police clearance.
This quick link to the CK page on JobJack will show you our vacancies, read the top 2 options carefully – they will route you to ENTRY LEVEL and SKILLED vacancies. Once you build your JobJack profile you use your same profile to find other vacancies at other organisations.
NOTE: the most important step is to load your profile, we have a number of vacancies, sometimes they take a day or two before they go live.
We use the following terminology:
Care Facilitator* – frontline support, based at a school (including Social Auxiliary Workers)
Care Practitioner – qualified specialists i.e. registered counsellor, psychologist or social worker employed on a full or part time basis.
We also have a small support team who manage logistics, human resources, finance, community liaison, funding and M&E.
* Candidates interested in the role of Care Facilitator will receive free training and will then be eligible to apply for a post. This means that we first train, and then recruit. If you are not successful, you walk away with a valuable qualification and experience. The most important requirements are to have a heart for the community, to speak the language of the community and to live in the community. The minimum qualification is a grade 9 certificate, or equivalent. A Matric certificate and previous work experience will give you an added advantage, but is not required. Social Auxiliary Workers are welcome to apply for these posts.
