The death of a loved one is devastating news for anyone but, for children, it can be especially difficult to deal with. The surviving parent or guardian can also feel overwhelmed and uncertain of who to turn to for the right support.
At Community Keepers, we believe that all children should have the opportunity to access age appropriate support when they need it. Thanks to funding that we have just received from the National Lotteries Commission, we can continue to offer therapeutic support to bereaved learners.
The funding is project specific with the majority allocated to our therapeutic interventions, three laptop computers for our therapists and the remainder allocated to operating overheads. We last received funding from Lotto in 2013 so we feel relieved that our application, this year, was approved.
