New partnership bolsters learner support

Community Keepers is proud to announce a new three year partnership and an Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropies’ investment in the lives of learners through an education-focused grant.

Learners are struggling and it reflects in their academic challenges.  A number of recent papers*, reviewing the impact of the Covid19 pandemic on learners, highlight the need for affective support to enable learning and recommend school-based psycho-social support services including the introduction of non-professional interventions within a framework of psychological/mental health first aid and peer-to-peer interventions,” said Gerrit Laning, Community Keepers CEO.

The waiting list of schools requesting our services is growing and this grant enables us to address this increase in demand. Well-being is an immediate need; when a child or young person indicates that they need help we need to respond, provide a safe space for them to tell their story and support platforms so that they are able to achieve their academic goals.”
