Last night we celebrated our 2022 Thanksgiving event, one of three events this month as we have grown so big that we now fill three school halls! The room was buzzing with Principals and Educators from Alpha Primary, Apex High, Apex Primary, Bernadino Heights High, Devon Valley Primary, False Bay Primary, Forest Village Leadership Academy, Lyndedoch Community School, Klapmuts Primary, Simondium Primary, Stellenzicht High, St Vincent RC Primary, Trevor Manuel Primary, Vlottenburg Primary and Weber Gedenk Primary.
Our funders and partners who joined this event included guests from Acorn Education, Because Stories, Capitec and Capitec Foundation, Clemengold, Marais Button & Associates, Marie Stander Art School, Remgro, Rupert Education Foundation, Stellenbosch Municipality, The Stellenbosch, Youth4Life and a group of private donors. Our next events are both being held on the 20th and we can’t wait.
The focus of the evening was the 32 000 learners in our collective care and our role in supporting and enabling them on their journey to well-being. October is Mental Health Awareness Month and, together, we are making Mental Health a priority for all.

Kim was our MC for the night and Nikki Meyer, our Photographer
Working on a zero-budget for décor, our therapists created a beautiful setting making flowers out of recycled calendars and craft paper, bunting from newsprint and trailed strings of fairy lights along the table-cloths of brown paper. At the end of the evening we were blessed to receive love-notes written by our guests on these table-cloths.
