CARE PRACTIONER (SCHOOL COUNSELLOR / SOCIAL WORKER)

Community Keepers delivers psycho-social services to primary and high school learners in under-serviced communities.  We are accepting applications for a Care Practitioner (registered counsellor or social worker) in the Bonnievale Area. 

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing individual and/or group therapy.
  • Structured feedback and recording of data.
  • Maintaining relationships with the school management, learners, educators and caregivers.
  • Liaising with caregiver committees host workshops.
  • Professional development for educators.
  • Anchoring life skill workshops for learners.
  • Administration.

Requirements:

  • It is essential that applicants are registered with the SACSSP as a Social Worker or with the HPCSA as a Registered Counsellor.
  • Experience in counselling children, working in a school context and sound ethical principles of practice.
  • Experience in the development of interventions for individuals and groups.
  • Excellent administrative skills with proficiency in MS-Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Afrikaans and English.
  • A team player with a natural ability to build strategic relationships and interact with individuals of different backgrounds.
  • A passion community-based interventions.
  • Willingness to represent the values and ethos of the organisation.

The successful candidate will be based at partner schools in the Bonnievale area and will need their own reliable vehicle to commute between schools.  The starting date for this position is as soon as possible.
