Bomikazi Lupindo (PHD Candidate, Oxford University) trained 6 of our team members this week – they will be participating in the pilot phase of her research project, “Ties That Heal”, a trauma intervention.

“In South Africa, young people continue to face alarmingly high levels of violence in schools and communities; as seen in recent reports of severe bullying and school-based assaults.

My current DPhil research builds on this work; developing a school-integrated intervention that can be implemented across schools and afterschool programmes to reduce the effects of violence exposure and foster resilience and wellbeing among youth.

It’s time to transform how we support young people in violent contexts; not just to survive, but to heal and thrive.”
