Community Keepers is a non-profit company aiming to promote the social and emotional well-being of children and youth by providing support services within schools.  We seek to appoint a Junior Bookkeeper/ Financial Clerk to join their team. This person will be responsible for handling financial transactions, maintaining records, supporting financial operations, processing invoices, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, assisting with budgeting and any additional financial and administrative duties. The individual will also prepare financial reports, verify data accuracy, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.  This position is open for candidates residing in the Western Cape. Full time office based position.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with day-to-day accounting tasks
  • Maintain and update financial records
  • Prepare and manage documentation for financial transactions
  • Support senior management

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of bookkeeping principles
  • Experience working with Xero Accounting system and Payspace (highly advantageous)
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Excel skills
  • Must have their own transport

Qualifications:

  • Relevant bookkeeping or accounting certification/qualification preferred
  • Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Xero Accounting software
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
